An act of true love

Years of unspoken hurt
Turned his heart cold
Least of their concern
To unwrap what it holds.

Smile never crossed his lips
Nor was any tear ever shed,
What good was such living
That’s equivalent to dead.

But one fine day,
His path crossed with hers
And she could reach him
Where he held all his fears.

Unknowingly he began to laugh
And when hurt, he did cry
Instead of acting strong
And telling lies.

It took the warmth of her love,
To let his hurt depart,
An act of true love
Can thaw a frozen heart.
